Profile of Jason Quin

After living and working across several continents, in remote Outback communities and busy cities, I'm passionate to see social innovation take hold at the grassroots in Australia. Shaped by early exposure to the diversity of people and the ways they live, my journey has provided an equally wide-ranging apprenticeship in the commercial and social economies. Joining the Foundation for Social Entrepreneurs (aka UnLtd) in 2002, I experienced a paradigm shift. With UnLtd, I learned the ropes of the new social economy, where entrepreneurship and innovation work to provide the catalyst for positive change and improved possibilities. Since 2008, I've helped nurture EGO - a collaborative partner for grassroots innovation - alongside my day job at UnLtd, in the UK, and then while setting up the Australian Centre for Social Innovation, back in my hometown of Adelaide. Right now, I'm leading an initiative for the Desert Peoples Centre, to grow a social enterprise hub for Central Australia. Enabling the social enterprise sector with tailored capacity building and support, the Hub is a catalyst for change in the desert.
