All Together Now

Our vision is for an Australia free from racism. We aim to eliminate racist behaviour in Australia through innovative, evidence-based and effective social marketing.

Definition of success:
According to the annual Scanlon Foundation surveys, 14% of Australian residents have been a victim of racial abuse in the past year (2010). That's around 3 million people. Our programs will be successful when we know our work contributes to the substantial reduction in this abuse. We will know whether we have done this because we measure outputs (e.g. ROI) + outcomes of our work.
What makes your project innovative?:
We use modern social marketing techniques and public art to facilitate discussion about what racism is, the effect it has on people, and how to stop it. We concentrate our effort in areas that are going to have the highest ROI, such as creating videos for YouTube and working with corporations who spread our cultural diversity message to their customers. We don't preach to people. Instead we provide a platform for people with diverse opinions to have their say - so long as what they say is not discriminatory or abusive!
What do you need help with?:
We need help with our website, which was built in Drupal. It needs regular security updates and could also do with an IA redesign. We are about to start taking donations using PayPal. We are looking for somebody to set this system up by linking CiviCRM (our contact database) to PayPal and an online accounting database (not yet selected). We need our donations logged in both our CRM system and accounting system. Our founder used to be a web developer, and so is a great contact person for web volunteers as she understands technical language and issues. However now that All Together Now's programs are up and running she no longer has time to maintain the organisation's website and CRM systems. Our organisation has volunteer insurance.
