About the Opportunity
The Richmond Fellowship of New South Wales (RFNSW) is seeking a full-time Business Development Manager to join their team located in Homebush, Sydney.
This is a 12 month contract position, with possible opportunity to extend.
Reporting to the CEO, this position will be responsible for the overall day-to-day development and implementation of the RFNSW social enterprise strategy.
This includes the initiation, development and growth of productive industry and community collaborations, sponsorships and other relationships
relevant to the development of a social enterprise/s, to generate
income for services for people living with mental health issues.
More specifically, some of your main responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):
- Increasing the number of services RFNSW delivers through the
development of new social enterprise services and strengthening and
diversifying partnerships;
- Undertaking and implementing strategic, financial and program
planning for the Social Enterprise Strategy so that RFNSW will be
recognised by the community as a leader in the operation of social
enterprises; and
- Maintaining the highest standards in all areas of service provision
and management including quality assurance and benchmarking practices.
The successful candidate will possess business related tertiary
qualifications and have demonstrated experience in the development of a
business, including the ability to take a business from inception to
profitability.
A high level of articulation and excellent oral communication and
interpersonal skills including report writing and presentations is
crucial in this role. The successful candidate will need to show a
demonstrated ability to liaise with management, staff and external
organisations and establish effective professional relationships with
people at all levels and from diverse backgrounds.
Another essential skill is a proven ability to work as a team member
or independently as required in order to monitor workflows, establish
priorities and meet deadlines and as such you will need to possess
excellent project management and organisational skills. In addition,
experience in contemporary relationship management including event
management, planning, and implementing services and benefits and working
with volunteers is necessary.
The successful candidate will need an understanding of innovative and
effective marketing strategies, as well as sound judgement and
awareness of economic factors relating to the development of a social
enterprise. This includes the ability to monitor budgets associated with
projects and events.
Ideally, you will have previous experience in, or an understanding
of, the mental health sector. An understanding of the concept of social
enterprise development and client participation in service planning,
provision and review is extremely desirable.
Importantly, you will have a positive attitude towards people with a
mental illness. Resilience is also an integral part of this role, as the
nature of this sector and the role are multi-faceted and priorities can
compete from time to time.
It is essential that applicants possess a current NSW Driver’s Licence and have the right to work in Australia
