Adding your Two Bobs Worth to help a #ozsicamp project
The past 12 months has been a foundational year for Two Bob's Worth. But with your help (see voting link below), we could really make it happen in 2011!!
Over the past year we have consulted with various stakeholders, and received some great guidance from Grant Young at Zumio and Michelle Williams, however funding has not come through that would enable us to really focus on making Two Bob's Worth a success over the next 1-3yrs.
I am excited to announce, however, that the Two Bob's Worth project is now shortlisted for a World of Difference grant from Vodafone ($80,000), and with your vote we could deliver the potential of the Two Bob's Worth micro-volunteering platform. Please click here to head over to Facebook and vote now!.
So how did we come to enter the Vodafone World of Difference?
One of the obvious stakeholders for Two Bob's Worth is The Centre for Volunteering, based here in Sydney. Through ASIX, I was put in touch with Tirrania over at Bridges Inc and through Tirrania I met Tony Frew, Research & Policy Manager for The Centre for Volunteering.
The Centre was excited about the potential for Two Bob's Worth to help young people become more active in their community, as well as help organisations (including the Centre) manage dynamic volunteer teams, so I entered the Vodafone World of Difference competition in an effort to obtain funding to enable me to work with the Centre for 12mths, to make Two Bob's Worth happen!
The final spot in the World of Difference program is determined by a popular vote on Facebook, so please do your "two bob's worth" and head over and VOTE NOW!
